Major CDL update out of Ohio.
The BMV is officially putting 5,000 non-domiciled CDL holders on notice. Drivers have exactly 30 days to provide updated, compliant documentation or face an immediate downgrade to a standard passenger license.
Ohio hasn’t issued a new non-domiciled CDL since the FMCSA tightened the rules in late 2025, and they’ve stated they have no plans to resume. If other states adopt this hardline stance, the ripple effect on the national driver pool will be massive.
What are your thoughts on this? Could your state be next?
